摘要 PURPOSE: To suppress deterioration of strength due to a coarse grinding work by a method wherein after a grinding work is effected in a direction in which an angle with the direction of a stress added during the use of a product exceeds a given value, a finishing work is effected as a surface machined by a grinding work is ground and removed by a given value ore more. CONSTITUTION: When a ceramic sintered substance 1 is ground in the shape of a given product, provided a grinding direction is extended in a direction 11 and a stress applied during the use of the sintered product 1 as a product is a tensile force as indicated in, for example,σ1, a grinding work is applied in a direction in which an angleθbetween a directionσ1 and a direction Pi is 45 deg. or more. During a finish work, 30μm or more, especially 40μm or more is ground for removal from a surface after a coarse grinding work. This method reduces the influence of a crack and suppresses deterioration of a strength by grinding and removal of a damage layer to which a crack occurs during a coarse grinding work.
