PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable sufficient mixture and satisfactory distribution of reducing agent and exhaust gases by forming a device for adjusting the reducing agent as an evaporator, evaporating the reducing agent by the evaporator, and introducing it into an exhaust gas stream in the form of steam. SOLUTION: A pressure-adjusting device 20 is connected with an overflow pipe 19, and the upstream side of this pressure-adjusting device 20 is connected with an electrically controlled metering valve 23 via a fuel conduit 21. This metering valve 23 is controlled with respect to a load and the number of revolutions and supplies fuel to an evaporator 26 as a reducing agent. The evaporator 26 feeds only fuel-like steam entering exhaust gases through a multiporous wall of a hollow body 30. This hollow body 30 is heated by exhaust gases and is also heated by a blow pin 32, when a temperature if exhaust gases is too low to reach an evaporation process, particularly at a starting stage of an internal combustion engine. Since heating is controlled with respect to operation parameters, a required amount of steam-like fuel is supplied continuously into the exhaust gases.
