PURPOSE: To provide a brake disk material which has an improved wear resistance and a high temperature strength (mechanical strength) and also which is made an aluminum alloy matrix superior in formability. CONSTITUTION: The brake disk material is such that, hard ceramics particles with the particle diameter of 5-100μm are dispersed of 5-25wt.% in an aluminum alloy matrix composed of 3.0-6.0wt.% of magnesium, 1.0-6.0wt.% of nickel and the balance aluminum with inevitable impurities. It may also contain 0.01-0.2% of titanium.
