PURPOSE: To obtain a new human endocelin converting enzyme useful for diagnosing cardiac infarction, comprising a protein having a specific amino acid sequence and activity of converting big endothelin into endothelin or a protein which is deficient in the amino acid residue, into which the amino acid residue is inserted or which is substituted with the amino acid residue. CONSTITUTION: This new human endocelin converting enzyme comprises a protein which is obtained by gene manipulation, not contains other proteins derived from human, contains an amino acid sequence of amino acid 1 to 758 among amino acids of the formula and has activity of converting big endothelin into endothelin or a protein which is deficient in one or more amino acid residues at one or more sites of the protein, into which one or more amino acid residues are inserted or which is replaced with one or more amino acid residues and has activity of converting big endothelin into endothelin and is useful for identifying/evaluating human endothelin converting enzyme(ECE) application to an immunogen for preparing an ECE specific antibody or diagnosing cardiac infarction. |
