摘要 PURPOSE: To produce indole in high yield with high selectivity from aniline and ethylene glycol using a catalyst of a polysilazane-Ru complex supported on magnesium oxide for their condensation reaction and a Pd catalyst supported on C for hydrogenation. CONSTITUTION: Aniline and ethylene glycol are subjected to the condensation reaction in the presence of a catalyst of MgO-Si-N-Ru complex comprising a polysilazane-ruthenium complex supported on a magnesium oxide carrier to give indole. Then, the indole is catalytically hydrogenated in the presence of formic acid using a Pd/C catalyst prepared by making palladium supported by a carbonaceous carrier as a catalyst to give indoline. This complex catalyst is prepared by introducing silicon tetrachloride and ammonia into the magnesium oxide carrier to continue the formation of polysilazane until the solution becomes alkaline whereby the magnesium oxide is supported, then adding them into a ruthenium chloride solution and treating them with heat. The hydrogenation catalyst is allowing the carbon carrier to support palladium chloride followed by reduction of the palladium chloride.
