The collector has two rectangular shovel faces (1,2), with triangular sides (3,4) folded up and interleaved. These sides are joined near the top by two hinge pins (5), so that the lower shovel mouths (13,14) can be opened or closed. Each shovel top has a central arm (6,7) attached to perform the opening or closing. When closed together, a bag can be attached over the lower shovel mouths, to collect any debris held between them, on opening. The arms attached to the shovels may be curved at the shovel ends to provide sufficient fixing and to enable the arm handles to come together when the collector is closed, in use, or storage.
