Payment terminal e.g. using magnetic or smart card, for printing multiple tickets on single strip of paper

The transaction terminal has a printer to print transaction information on the first part of the paper strip, then to print the same information on the next part of the paper strip. The terminal has a detector sensing when the strip is pulled out. The detector controls starting of the printing of the next part of the strip. An additional timer circuit delays the starting of the printing of the second part for a set interval after the first part is drawn out. A visual or audible indicator (8) alerts the user during the interval between the first and second stages of the printing. A second signal is emitted after the second stage of printing is complete. The same indicators are used for a different signal if there is excessive delay after printing of the first part.
