The input mechanism contains an input shaft, carrying a co-rotating, rigidly secured input gear, to which is selectively connectable a meshing output gear. The parking brake comprises a cylindrical brake drum, extending from the output to the input gear and coaxial with input shaft. Round and over the drum outer periphery is wound a brake belt, an actuator is operationally coupled to the brake belt for its tensioning into a friction contact with the brake drum, or for the contact release.
