Injection moulding of prods. with blind recesses and process equipment

A process for mfg. injection mouldings with blind recesses whose bases form a flush surface with the outer wall includes simultaneous injection of a main component (4) and a plug (13) in separate cavities (3, 12) of a single mould (1, 2). A tool insert (9) forms an opening through the main component (4) and the plug (13) is aligned with the opening (8) and inserted until the outer faces of the component (4) and plug (13) are flush with each other. A claimed tool for the process comprises a fixed punch (1) and moveable die (2) forming a cavity (3) for the main component (4), a moving tool insert (9) to produce an opening (8) through the component (4), an additional tool cavity (12) for the plug (13), a device (15) for aligning the plug (13) with the opening (8) and a device (18) for inserting the plug (13) into the opening (8).
