摘要 A baffle plate (10) is used to divide the space between exhaust line (16) and filter (1) into two chambers (11,12). The combustion chamber (7) is joined via flame tube ports (8) to the chamber (11) facing the line (16) and the open side of the tube is turned towards the chamber bordering on the filter. The two chambers are linked by a passage (13). Fuel injected into the combustion chamber is swirled up and so mixed with the oxygen-containing exhaust. Swirling is effected by twist grid (14) or primary grid, or again an annular gap in the end of the flame tube turned away from the filter which is itself bevelled on the side facing the filter. As exhaust flows at high speed into the housing, the baffle builds up static pressure and velocity head to split flow into part to the filter via the chambers and the remainder to chamber (7) via swirling grid (14) and tube ports (8). The turbulised fuel is fired by the sparkplugs etc (6), giving soot particle combustion where they adhere to the filter.
