<p>A key and cylinder lock unit, in which the key (2) comprises a shank (8) provided with a pattern and with at least one movable member (12, 12'), the lock (4) comprising a plug (14) housed within a cylinder (16) and provided with a plurality of substantially radial pins (20) formed in two parts (20', 20') movable along corresponding radial channels (18, 26) provided partly in the plug (14) and partly in the cylinder (16) and, by means of springs (22), maintained with one end in the longitudinal seat (28) provided in said plug (14) for the insertion of the shank (8) of said key (2), characterised in that: the plug (14) comprises along said seat (28) a longitudinal groove (30) closed at the key introduction end and housing the tapared end of all the pins (20), which completely traverse said seat; the movable member (12) of the shank (8) being positioned at the front end thereof and being of such shape as to be able to be deviated towards said longitudinal groove (3 0) as a result of the progressive introduction of the shank into said seat (28), and to engage the end of the successively encoun tered pins (20) in order to shift them axially until they are able to slide along that surface of said shank comprising said pattern (10).</p> |
