摘要 The method involves moving the tool (12) automatically within a cartesian coordinate system with three spatial axes. The centre point is detectable on the measuring axis (z) only. The centre point is moved to a measuring surface (22), which is orthogonal to the measuring axis, and its position on the axis is measured. The point is then moved to a reference surface (24,26), the position of which relative to the measuring surface is known, and its position on the measuring axis is measured. The centre point is calibrated along the first of the two further spatial axes (x,y), dependant upon the differential between the operating point positions of both surface, and the geometric relationship between the surfaces.
