Sheets for the production of multi-paged leaflets, brochures (21) etc. are fed through a guide arrangement (40) in which they are folded to a smaller format. A top sheet (25) is first removed from a stack (22) by a suction wheel (34) and lifted to a guide (41). At approximately the same time a sheet (23), which lies adjacent to the stack (22) is moved in the same direction and placed on the stack, after which the cover sheet is folded back.
