A pressurized process for the treatment of high-solid wastewater having relatively high BOD and phosphorus concentration includes anaerobic and aerobic treatment. The treated wastewater effluent is discharged in an environmentally safe manner such that the residue BOD and P are concentrated in the solid fraction which may be a source of protein.
