Bone clamp for introduction into surgical incision

Two arms (1a,1b) of a scissor type clamp instrument are operated by a finger and thumb action at their proximal ends which have a ring like construction (3a,3b). The arms have a ratchet mechanism (4) between them which holds the clamp in the desired position. Towards their distal end the arms are connected by a hinge pin (2) so that they can move relative to each other. A plunger arm (6) is connected by a hinge pin (7) at the distal end of one arm (1a). The plunger arm has a sharp point (8) and can slide within an outer support tube (11) connected at one end by a hinge pin (13) to the other arm (1b). At the other end of the support tube is an extending curved hook (12) whose point (14) lies on the same axis as the point on the plunger arm. Two of the instruments can be fixed together on a frame and used to bring fractured parts of a bone together.
