The present invention provides a method for restraining adhesion-stage larvae of barnacles from adhering to an adhesion object in water by irradiating the adhesion-stage larvae of barnacles with light including the entire wavelength range from 409 to 412 nm and including a portion of wavelengths within the wavelength range from 400 to 460 nm from the adhesion object toward the direction of the adhesion-stage larvae.
