PURPOSE:To uniformize the electrostatic charge of the toner and to improve the image stability at the time of long-term use by copolymerizing a vinyl monomer and polyester which can copolymerize with the vinyl monomer in the presence of polyester. CONSTITUTION:Radical polymn. of the vinyl monomer (C) and the polyester (A) which can copolymerize therewith is executed in the presence of the polyester (B). Linear polyester is preferable as the polyester (B) and the polyester of a branch type obtd. by using trihydric or higher hydric alcohol such as trimethylol propane and/or trivalent or higher polybasic acid such as trimetllitic acid is sable as well. The vinyl monomer (C) which is polymerized in the presence of the polyester (B) is exemplified by a styrene monomer, (meth)acrylic monomer and other monomers. The dispersion is fine and uniform in this way and, therefore, the electrostatic charge of the toner is uniform and the toner withstands long-term use. |
