A dry particulate toner compsn. contains a polymeric binder and a charge control agent comprising a quat. phosphonium salt of formula (I), where R1 and R2 are each a 4-8C tert. alkyl; R3 is a 1-24C alkyl opt. substd. with OH, carboxy, alkoxy, carboalkoxy, acyloxy, NO2, CN, keto or halo gp(s)., 3-7C cycloalkyl, alkaryl (1-20C and 6-14C respectively), aralkyl (1-4C and 6-14C respectively) the aryl being opt. substd. with alkyl, OH, carboxy, alkoxy, carboalkoxy, acyloxy, amino, NO2, CN, keto or halo gp(s).; and R4-R6 are each H, 1-24C alkyl, OH, carboxy, alkoxy, carboalkoxy, acyloxy, amino, NO2, CN, keto or halo. Also claimed is an electrostatographic developer comprising (i) the toner compsn. and (ii) carrier particles. |
