Disclosed is a method to manufacture soft steel wire rod, inhibiting an occurrence of red scale to easily remove the scale using a mechanical stripping method. An embodiment of the present invention comprises: a step of heating low carbon billet with carbon content of 0.05 wt% or less at a temperatures of 1050-1150°C, and a step of obtaining wire rod by performing a rolling process; a step of water-cooling the wire rod and winding the wire rod at a temperature of 890-930°C; and a step of air-cooling the wound wire rod at a speed of 13 °C/sec or more for a temperature of 700°C or lower. |
