PURPOSE: To provide the method for coping with the dark-end effect of the direct current lighting of a fluorescent lamp. CONSTITUTION: A series circuit, which is formed of a capacitor and a resistor, and a diode are connected between terminals of a lamp current smoothing coil 5 so as to protect a pole changing device 4. A capacitor is connected so as to reduce the noise. Quantity of mercury is increased or the peripheral temperature of a lamp is raised so as to obtain the lamp without generating the dark- end phenomenon. Two starters are fitted in parallel with each other in opposite directions in the lamp starter 3 side so as to prepare for the putting-off of the lamp at the time of changing pole or at the time of changing a lamp. A capacitor having a small capacity is connected between a power source and an auxiliary conductor or a tool of a fluorescent lamp. As a lamp current smoothing coil, a choke coil having the hysterysis characteristic near the linear characteristic in relation to the flowing current value or a magnetic leakage coil is used. |
