PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment agent for silver that has excellent discoloration (corrosion) prevention for silver, and can give excellent discoloration resistance (heat resistance and gas-blocking ability) to a silver surface.SOLUTION: A surface treatment agent for silver comprises a laminar silicic acid compound, where based on 1 mass% of the laminar silicic acid compound content, the free sodium ion amount is 2 ppm or less and the free lithium ion amount is 0.01 ppm or more and 10 ppm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
