PURPOSE: To easily plot one graphic or character by inputting the start code of font code, vertical character number and horizontal character number and combining plural character fonts. CONSTITUTION: The soft key of pattern is displayed so as to select the kind of pattern first. Pattern data express one large character graphic by using the plural character fonts and are composed of the vertical and horizontal character numbers and the font code. For instance, the fonts of the pattern of vertical 3 characters×horizontal 3 characters are combined and one pattern is formed. In the case of 'pattern calling,' a window for inputted exceptional character pattern information is displayed and an operator inputs the exceptional pattern information (the start code, the vertical character number and the horizontal character number of an exceptional character pattern.) When an execution key is pushed, exceptional character pattern data obtained from the set exceptional character pattern information are displayed corresponding to a cursor size at a cursor XY coordinate position.
