PURPOSE: To provide a magnetic card on which information can be easily recorded without using any special magnetic recording and reproducing device and which has such an excellent forgery preventing effect that already recorded information is hardly erasable. CONSTITUTION: A nitrate is prepared by mixing iron nitrate expressed by Fe(NO3 )3 and strontium nitrate expressed by Sr(NO3 )2 with each other at a weight ratio of 1 to x (5<=x<=20). Then a solution is prepared by mixing and dissolving an amino acid expressed by H2 NCH2 COOH with and in the nitrate at a weight ratio of 1 to y (0.4<=y<=0.6). After preparing the solution, magnetic powder is manufactured by heating the solution to cause a reaction at a temperature between its boiling point and 1,100 deg.C. By using the magnetic powder, a magnetic layer 3 is formed on the main surface of a card substrate 2. |
