PURPOSE: To provide an automatic cable adjusting mechanism for a parking brake, which can adjust the cable by using a normally used short cable with a high workability. CONSTITUTION: A cam follower 17 is movably fitted in an elongated cam hole 11a formed in a brake lever 17 having one side to which a cap plate 12 coupled thereto with one end of a cable 14 is attached. The cam follower 17 is resiliently engaged with a stationary cam part 12a or a rotatable cam part of a cam plate 12 by means of an adjusting spring 18, and accordingly, the cam plate 12 is not rotationally urged by the adjusting spring when the cam follower 17 is resiliently engaged with the stationary cam part 12a. Further, the cam plate 12 is rotationally urged by the adjusting spring 18 in a direction in which the cable 14 is pulled, when the cam follower 17 is resiliently engaged with the rotatably cam part. |
