PURPOSE: To provide a component-position recognition apparatus by which the position of an electronic component comprising at least two leads can be recognized with high accuracy. CONSTITUTION: A component-position recognition apparatus is provided with a component-image storage means 101 by which the light and shade image of an electronic component is stored, with lead-position arithmetic means 103, 104, 105, 106 by which positions of leads inside respective regions are found on the basis of pieces of image data inside a plurality of regions to be set so as to separately contain respective whole images of at least two leads of an electronic-component image and with a component-position computation means 107 by which the position of the electronic component is found on the basis of the positions of the leads inside the respective regions found by the lead-position arithmetic means. |
