PURPOSE: To reduce a cost of manufacture by decreasing an assembly man-hour for a bump rubber receiver, further to ensure stable damping action over a long period. CONSTITUTION: A bump rubber receiver 9 is integrally formed of a cylindrical part 9A fixed to an upper end side of an upper cap 2 through a tubular bracket 8, cover part 9B and an annular trimming part 9D formed with a bearing surface 10 relating to a bump rubber 7. A calking part 9A1 is formed in a lower end side of the cylindrical part 9A, to fix by calking the bump rubber receiver 9 to a flange part 8A of the tubular bracket 8. In this way, a number of part items can be decreased, and since necessity for welding work can be eliminated, a cost of manufacturing a shock absorber total unit can be reduced. Further by integrally forming the bump rubber receiver 9 by press molding, dust of spatter or the like according to welding work is prevented from sticking to a surface of the bump rubber receiver 9. |
