PURPOSE: To enhance polishing efficiency for enhancement of the product value of workpieces by polishing the workpieces within a mass which is stirred as an appropriate amount of liquid such that media inside a polishing vessel are moistened is added thereto. CONSTITUTION: When an operator controls a valve 13 at an appropriate time after a polishing operation has been started, a liquid in a liquid tank 9 is fed by an appropriate amount to a polishing vessel 4 through a pipe 10, and the appropriate amount of liquid such that media are moistened is dropped or sprayed from a nozzle portion 11, so that while the appropriate amount of liquid such that the surfaces of the media inside the polishing vessel 4 are moistened is added, workpieces are polished by the media moistened at their surfaces inside a mass being stirred for fluidization. Therefore, the rate of temperature rise of the surfaces of the media is reduced with moisture thereon being cooled by evaporation due to an air current passing through the mass, and since an abrasive having polishing power appears on the surfaces of the media, the polishing power is significantly enhanced. |
