<p>PURPOSE: To eliminate the need of a sensing roller, to miniaturize and lighten a mouse, to visually recognize a tip and to trace the graphic of a rough sketch or the like by turning a track ball itself which is a small ball main body to one element of a sensor. CONSTITUTION: Many frames 1a of an approximately equal area are formed on the entire surface of the small ball main body 1 and an identification mark (m) is provided on the appropriate position of the frame 1a. An approximately equal space is provided between the mutually adjacent identification marks (m) and (m), and the identification mark (m) and the other part are optically discriminated. The small ball main body 1 is loosely inserted inside a holder A so as to be rolled in any directions and a first photocell 8 and a second photocell 9 for respectively optically measuring the identification mark (m) in an X axis rolling direction and a Y axis rolling direction are incorporated.</p> |
