PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rapidly and easily mounting and dismounting a roller ring of a roll stand by manual work. SOLUTION: A tool 14 may be securely coupled in both longitudinal directions of a carrying shaft end 15a and a pulling anchor end 10 for the purpose of executing the establishing and removing of a pulling anchor pretensioning, the removal and axial displacement by the screwing-in and out of the pulling anchor 8 and the pressing to flanges 3 and 4 of the roller ring 2 and the releasing therefrom only in the mounting state of the one tool 14. The tool has thread ridges (28) drivable by a motor in both rotating directions and slidable in the longitudinal direction by pressure medium for the purpose of coupling to the pulling anchor end 10.
