PURPOSE: To perform the direct current lighting of a fluorescent lamp, with which power loss is reduced, by using a transformer, of which terminal voltage is lower than that of a magnetic leakage transformer, so as to perform the direct current lighting. CONSTITUTION: In the case where a power source voltage at 100V is used, when a movable electrode and a fixed electrode of a starter 3 contact with each other, the voltage between points A, B becomes 125V. At this stage, as a terminal of two coils, 12V terminal of a transformer is used. With this structure, a 32W type lamp can be lighted at the direct current without using a large magnetic leakage transformer, which is used for lighting a 32W type lamp using a conventional normal frequency alternating current lighting circuit and of which input voltage is 100V. Furthermore, lighting is performed at 1/3 of capacity of a capacitor in comparison with the conventional lighting of a 32W type lamp using the direct current lighting circuit. The magnetic leakage transformer can be downsized and weight thereof can be reduced. |
