<p>PURPOSE: To reduce color slurring on a luminance border by dividing a color border into plural luminance areas and replacing all color data in the luminance area of which colors disagrees with color data with a largest number of color data of color areas. CONSTITUTION: A color area divider 118 divides a block into plural color areas based on color data in a block with a block number received from a gate 114 and provides a label Ci to each color area. Then a luminance color area discrimination device 112 counts number of areas in the luminance color area in a received luminance area Yi and provides an output of an open signal to the gage 111 when number of the areas is two or over to get through the gate 125. When number of the areas is 1, the device 112 gets through a gate 126 and gives plural luminance color areas in the luminance area Yi to a comparator 127. The comparator 127 counts in-area color data and provides an output of a luminance color area with a largest color data number. A delay memory 128 stores an output of the comparator 127 till the discrimination of the color area number is finished and the color data of the dissident luminance area are replaced with the color data.</p> |
