<p>PURPOSE: To detect plural pieces of information without practically performing a mechanismic change of a conventional detecting device though information on the sheet size, the existence of a sheet or the like is necessary. CONSTITUTION: In a sheet feeder to take out a sheet housed in a cassette of a printer to form an image on the sheet by using an electrophotographic system, the sheet feeder has a detecting means to detect information from a cassette 1, and the cassette 1 has at least two display members [sheet size frames (3a, b, c) and sheet thickness levers (5a, b, and c) or the like] on information of the cassette or the sheet in the cassette. In operation to insert the cassette 1 into the sheet feeder, an information display part of the cassette passes through a detecting area of a detecting means, and detects feeding information.</p> |
