PURPOSE: To well maintain the operating conditions of an engine at all times even if the actual pickup opening varies with the elapse of time. CONSTITUTION: An operation control device for outboard engine is provided with an accelerator cam mechanism which holds the opening of a throttle valve at a preset reference pickup opening until the amount of operation of a remote control lever to control the opening of a throttle valve reaches the amount of pickup operation and, when it exceeds the amount of pickup operation, roughly proportions the amount of operation to the opening of the throttle valve and an operation control means 84a to operationally control an engine with the opening of the reference pickup as a control reference point. Also it is provided with a pickup operation amount detector means 82a to detect that the amount of operation of the remote control lever reaches the amount of pickup operation, a cam opening detector means 81a to detect the opening of an accelerator cam mechanism, and a control reference point correction means 83a to correct the reference pickup opening according to the detected accelerator cam opening value at the time of detection of the amount of pickup operation. |
