摘要

PURPOSE: To improve inconvenience in which an identification signal output of n EDTV2 is made unstable and the signal processing system and accordingly the display aspect ratio are made unstable between the EDTV2 and the NTSC systems due to effect of a weak electric field strength or the like. CONSTITUTION: When a video image input is switched into an EDTV2 or an NTSC system and an output of an identification signal detection circuit 8 is changed, a mode discrimination circuit 9 provides an output of a control signal with a time constant for an n-field period with respect to an output of the identification signal detection circuit 8. The output controls a changeover circuit 10 selecting the EDTV2 processing or the NTSC processing and a changeover circuit 11 to select a display aspect ratio.
