PURPOSE: To easily perform the maintenance of an image forming output of recording paper or the loss of output data by detecting whether an ink tank is mounted on a printing head part and displaying the data showing the non- mounting of the ink tank when the ink tank is not detected. CONSTITUTION: It is detected whether an ink tank 12Y is mounted on a printing head part 11 by an ink tank detection circuit 20 through the printing head part 11 and, when the ink tank 12Y is not detected, the data showing the non- mounting of the ink tank is displayed on an operation display part. Therefore, the non-mounting of the ink tank incapable of being easily confirmed heretofore by an operator because the ink tank detection circuit is not provided can be easily and certainly confirmed and the ink tank can be rapidly mounted. As a result, the maintenance of the apparatus can be easily performed and the wasteful output of recording paper and the loss of output data can be prevented. |
