The game is played on a surface representing a football pitch which is defined by walls. The players are held on telescopic rods (3) one end of which are guided in elongated holes in the longitudinal walls. The other ends of the rods pivot in the opposite walls. The rod is held in the holes by a sleeve (4) on the rod. This has annular grooves which slide freely on the upper and lower edges of the hole (2a). Removable clips (7) are put into the hole on either side of the rod to prevent it moving laterally.
