Non-selective gel culture medium for the identification of germ in a biological sample, esp. a urine sample, comprises:(a) nutrient elements allowing the growth of germs potentially responsible for urinary infections;(b) a beta -D-glucuronidase chromogenic substrate contg. 5-bromo-6-chloro-3-indolyl beta -D-glucuronide (I) or a salt, and(c) a beta -glucosidase chromogenic substrate.
