SEPARATION OF 1,1,1,2-TETRA-FLUOROETHANE

The separation and purification method includes the steps of; (a) separating 1,1,1,2-tetrafluorochloroethane(HFC-134a) and HF from the mixture of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane(HFC-134a); (b) removing HF by contacting HFC-134a flux from the top of a distillation tower with water; (c) neutralizing and drying the HFC-134a compound; (d) removing the compounds having low boiling point from the HFC-134a compound. The distillation tower is worked at the pressure of 3.0-10.0 kg/cm2 and the drying process is operated with 98% sulfuric acid in a packing tower.
