Controlling sub-operating system in message exchange database

The sub-operating system converts a message using a sub-system of the target interface to a format suited to the target sub-system. Each message has an identifier number. If the identifier is 1, the message is formatted for the operating system unit handling data transfer along a communication network. When the identifier is 0, the message is formatted to be compatible with a database held in the sub-operating system, and the resulting message stored in the database. An identifier of 2 causes the message to be formatted to deliver output to user or printer. An identifier of 3 causes the message is coded for the user interface, and 4 causes the message to be transmitted through an interface card.
