This fuel battery system, whereby an anode gas is supplied to an electrolyte membrane of a fuel battery and a cathode gas is supplied to the electrolyte membrane, controls the supply of the cathode gas and the supply of the anode gas, thereby controlling the fuel battery power generation. This fuel battery system detects the moist state of the electrolyte membrane and the supply state of the cathode gas supplied to the electrolyte membrane, and, on the basis of the signal from the moist state detection, controls the supply amount of the cathode gas supplied to the electrolyte membrane, thereby controlling the power generation state of the fuel battery. If the supply amount of the cathode gas is determined to be insufficient according to the signal wherefrom the supply state is detected, this fuel battery system prioritizes the signal from the moist state detection, and controls the power generation state of the fuel battery by controlling the supply amount of the cathode gas according to the signal wherefrom supply state is detected. |
