The mixer consists of a stand, a support (5) for a bowl (4), and a head (3) to carry the implement. The support has a mechanism (14 -17) for moving the bowl between lower and upper positions, while a safety screen (12) prevents access to the implement. The safety screen is designed to form the actuating element for the bowl moving mechanism, being connected to it by a component (18) which moves the bowl when the screen is raised or lowered. The safety screen is connected to a support rod (13) pivoted to the head (3), and the component (18) is connected to a crank and lever mechanism (20, 21). The screen also has projections (24) on it by which it is manipulated.
