The invention relates to a variable-pitch screw in which an adjusting mechanism is disposed. The adjusting mechanism consists of a cylindrical element 6 which is displaced relatively to a stationary separating surface 7 inside it by hydraulic pressure therebetween. This movement can be of rotor type (figure 2, not shown) and/or translational and act directly on levers of blades for adjustment.
