FIELD: electrothermy. SUBSTANCE: basic furnace-heating parameter, that is, electric current, is measured depending on thermal condition of bath and self-agglomerating electrode prior to turning on the furnace. Thermal state of furnace is determined by temperature variation of lining from moment of furnace shutdown to its turning-on; temperature of electrode effective end within this period is determined by bath wall temperature and temperature difference between electrode and lining depending on thermal emf value measured in electrode- ground circuit. Electrode temperature is used as controlled variable for maintaining thermal state of furnace within desired limits; if it drops below permissible value, furnace is turned on for heating. Heating current is adjusted by actual-to-desired electrode temperature ratio. EFFECT: improved accuracy, facilitated procedure. 4 cl |
