Bead-shaped links used for making flexible strings esp. for toys

The bead or link consists of a moulding, one end (6) of which is part spherical, while the other end (10) has a spherical hollow (13) and collar (9). The spherical end of another bead can be pushed into the hollow end. The collar (9) in the hollow end retains the next bead and acts as stop for the pivoting movement of the bead. The collar (9) has a cylindrical outer surface (10) which is flush with the outside (11) of the bead. The inside of the collar is off-set from the spherical opening forming a shoulder (14), which retains the next bead after it has been snapped into position.
