APPARATUS FOR RAPID CHANGE AND HOLDING IN NECESSARY POSITION OF LATERAL WALL OF MACHINE FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING OF METALLIC PRODUCT BETWEEN CYLINDERS

FIELD: continuous casting machine. SUBSTANCE: continuous casting machine includes two rotating in opposite direction cylinders 1,2 with parallel axis. These cylinders are arranged one another with gap. Two lateral walls 5a are forced to end surfaces of cylinders 1,2 in order to restrict casting space between the above mentioned cylinders. Apparatus for rapid changing of lateral wall 5a includes drum 14 with means for securing at least two lateral walls 5 to positions, mutually changing due to rotation of drum around its axis by predetermined angle. Means for step rotary motion of drum with amplitude corresponding to predetermined rotation angle allow to shift changeable lateral wall 5b from waiting position to working position in which active lateral wall 5a to be changed is placed. EFFECT: improved construction.
