FIELD: transport; vehicles powered by internal combustion engine. SUBSTANCE: performance characteristics are taken from vehicle instruments and structural performance values of its systems of units are found by criterion dependances which set similarity of actual and preset (sound) conditions of these systems and units and combine performance characteristics and structural performance values and parameters. Similarity criterion values of preset condition are calculated beforehand. EFFECT: facilitated diagnosing.
