A clamp screw (10) that includes a threaded member with a threaded part having a female thread (22) which screws onto a threaded attachment part, and a shaft-shaped peripheral part formed on its outer surface, an operating ring (12) whose inner part is inserted over the shaft-shaped peripheral part of the threaded member, and to which a rotational force is input externally, and a flange ring (18) fitted facing said operating ring so as to freely rotate on said shaft-shaped peripheral part of the threaded member (11) and in contact with the attached object (42), thread grooves (23, 32) of the same respective thread pitch engraved into the inserted and engaged inner and outer surfaces of the threaded member and operating ring, a plurality of balls (13) fitted into the thread grooves, a restraining ring (14) installed between the operating ring and flange ring and a spring means (36) fitted between the restraining ring and operating ring, which returns the operating ring to its initial position allowing for a set number of turns in a clamping range.
