Laser surgery applicator for contact vaporisation of tissue

The applicator has an optical fibre light guide (1) with a quartz glass core (2) and a contact point (4) at its free end, selectively brought into contact with the tissue. The contact point is made of an optically transparent solid material, with a quartz glass sleeve (4.2) receiving the quartz glass core of the optical fibre light guide. The transition between the quartz glass core and the quartz glass sleeve is provided as a funnel shape which widens outwards, with an increasing curvature in the direction of its free end.
