A water meter for measuring hot water consumption can be built into the circulation system. It consists of three chambers, chambers A (3) and B (4) and a gear chamber (7). The power transmission from the vaned wheels (1) in chambers A and B to the differential gear (2) in the gear chamber operates by magnets (5). The differential gear evaluates the difference in rotation speed of the wheels and transmits this measurement to the transmission magnet (6) leading to the electronic counter. Whatever the relative volume flow in chambers A and B, the gear measures the correct consumption. The most important advantage of this system is that it can be installed for use with each hot water tap in the residence and the meters can be integrated to ensure immediate hot water at each point, without the need to 'run the tap', saving both water and energy.
