Car heating system

A car heating system has a heat-exchanger working with a water circuit, thermally coupled to the engine (2) as a first heat source plus a second independent heat source, namely a combustion device(3). There is a valve to allow the heat flow in two modes, either from both heat sources, depending on engine load, or from the second source only. The valve (11) has an actuator coupled thermally to the first heat source which switches the first mode at a certain threshold temperature and above this temperature, maintains the first mode. The actuator is a bimetallic strip or a shape memory alloy. Each heat source has a circulating pump(6,8).
